30- Day Healthy Living Challenge: Day 2

How did Day 1 go? It should have been a pretty easy task, and Day 2 might not be as simple for some of you. Before we get into it, let me reiterate how to follow along with this challenge.

How It Works: Everyday, I will post a call to action. The actions will consist of healthy eating challenges, fitness goals, organizational tasks, and simple activities for general well-being. I’m asking you to perform as many actions as you can for your own health and to win a prize!

The Prize: Win your choice of 3 private nutrition counseling sessions OR 3 cooking classes with yours truly. Don’t live in NY? Don’t worry…we can video chat!

How To Win: Follow along with as many days as possible, and let me know that you did by either commenting on my blog, Tweeting (@nutritionalanat) at me, posting a picture to my Instagram (nutritionalanat), or writing on my Facebook page. Use the hashtag #ChallengealaNatalie. Since this is a 30-day challenge, I ask that you participate for at least 5 days. That’s 5 comments! I will randomly select a winner on February 1st.

Day 2 Challenge: Ditch The Alcohol

Let’s face it, you probably threw back a few drinks on New Year’s Eve. Although it’s Saturday night, try to abstain from drinking today. Here’s why:

  • Alcohol has a ton of calories.
  • Alcohol dehydrates you, which can deter tomorrow’s workout.
  • It makes you sluggish the next day, which also affects tomorrow’s workout. (Did I mention that tomorrow’s challenge will include a workout?)

This challenge may be really difficult for those who like to spend their Saturday night with a few glasses of wine, but cutting out high calorie drinks is one of the best way to cut out calories. And ditching the Saturday night alcohol (on occasion) will leave you feeling refreshed when you wake up Sunday morning. Instead of drinking, play a game with the family, go to the movies (I suggest Star Wars), or do yesterday’s challenge that you put off!
