I gave you some difficult challenges the past 3 days, so today will be a semi-rest day. Are you starting to feel healthier after putting out healthy snacks, ditching the weekend alcohol, and exercising briskly? I know it’s been a healthy weekend for me! Now it’s back to reality, and it’s sometimes harder to keep up with the health goals when work and reality get in the way.  That’s why we are going back to basics this Tuesday morning.

For the last time, here’s how you follow along with this challenge:

How It Works: Everyday, I will post a call to action. The actions will consist of healthy eating challenges, fitness goals, organizational tasks, and simple activities for general well-being. I’m asking you to perform as many actions as you can for your own health and to win a prize!

The Prize: Win your choice of 3 private nutrition counseling sessions OR 3 cooking classes with yours truly. Don’t live in NY? Don’t worry…we can video chat!

How To Win: Follow along with as many days as possible, and let me know that you did by either commenting on my blog, Tweeting (@nutritionalanat) at me, posting a picture to my Instagram (nutritionalanat), or writing on my Facebook page. Use the hashtag #ChallengealaNatalie. Since this is a 30-day challenge, I ask that you participate for at least 5 days. That’s 5 comments! I will randomly select a winner on February 1st.

Day 5 Challenge: Call Your Doctor

As much as I think nutrition and exercise are the root to living a really healthy life, I believe that there are some things that only medicine can fix.  Today’s challenge asks you to call the doctor that you have been meaning to set up an appointment with for a while.  Maybe it’s just a routine physical that you have avoided because you don’t want to know your numbers. Checking your weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose are so important because high numbers can indicate more serious problems. Or, maybe you have a wonky knee that has prevented you from exercising to the best of your ability. Get it checked out! I’ll be calling the dentist to schedule the dreaded teeth cleaning.

Enjoy this rest day because the healthy eating challenges start tomorrow!
